How-Do Into Gamers,
Today’s information will probably be quite lengthy as there will be a lot to cover here, however, if you’re a PC and/or Mac user and a fan of flight simulations, then you’re about to have your entire world elevated! For those of you that are veterans in this field, you will most likely already know about the kit we’re covering today. However, if you’re unfamiliar with the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System, then without further ado, let us climb aboard, buckle up and get ready for take-off…
The Complete Simulation
F.Y.I. and total transparency, the complete set up of this realistic simulation, is not going to be cheap. However, if you want to get the closest thing to piloting a real aircraft, all from the comfort of your home and with one of the most realistic systems available, then like my old-man always says: “You get what you pay for!”
So, what exactly is the Pro Flight System anyway?
Well, for those of you that haven’t yet heard of it, it is a flight simulation apparatus, that allows you to take a seat behind your very own cockpit and experience the best of both commercial and private aeroplanes alike. Whether you’re starting from scratch or a seasoned pilot with tons of air miles under your wings, you can rest assured that this piece of kit will offer truly breathtaking realism.
Customise Your Way
One of the really cool features built into every individual part, is the interchangeability incorporated into each component’s design. Stack each instrument on top of one another, behind or to the sides of the steering for easy reach and use. Mix it up and have some stacked on top of one-another whilst others remain side-by-side, it really is up to you.
Want the Altimeter above the Compass? Done. Want your Vertical Speed Indicator to the left of your Airborne Direction Finder? Easy, no problem at all. Easy-to-use mounting brackets provide the means to arrange your flight simulation setup in a configuration that is honestly only limited by your imagination.
You may wish to switch them around when flying different types of aircraft in order to add to the overall simulation experience. Perhaps you’ve had some real-world flight experience and want to set up to memory. Whatever way you choose, you can be sure to find the ideal set up with quick and easy to move components, designed to help capture the vision you hold inside your mind’s eye.

Pro Flight Yoke for PC and Mac
Regardless of which type of plane you wish to take to the skies in, the Pro Flight Yoke includes a Throttle Quadrant, an absolute essential for novice and seasoned pilots alike. Giving you control over realistically precise apparatus that will require a degree of muscle memory in its usage.
The Yoke and Throttle Quadrant with five axes in total, genuinely simulate what it actually feels like to truly fly an aircraft.
The modular and interchangeable equipment offers a unique flight simulator like no other, the Yoke itself anchors a truly comprehensive flight simulation setup alongside its additional counterpart(s).
Every little feature brings something to the table or should I say, cockpit? Such as a built-in stopwatch to aid in your approaches, time them to perfection with this relatively simple yet thorough inclusion and, should your PC happen to lack additional USB ports, an integrated USB Hub still provides docking stations for extra Saitek hardware that is also available as you will soon see.
Easy Installation, that is simply a case of Plug & Play:
Installation of the main components (the Yoke & Throttle Quadrant) connect via these simple and easy steps.
- The Yoke connects to your PC and/or Mac via simply connecting to a regular USB 2.0 Port.
- The Throttle Quadrant then connects to the Yoke directly via a PS/2 Cable
Once done, you can go ahead and load your favourite simulation, set the controls within the simulation options and before you know it, you’ll be taking off on your intended flight path. There’s no need for additional installation of drivers or software of any sort (unless you wish to expand your programming capability). Furthermore, with an impressive four-foot-long USB cable, you have a lot of wiggle room in regard to the placement of your Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System.
Metal Shaft For Durability:
Typically, when purchasing this sort of set-up, one can expect to find almost entirely plastic materials when taking them out of their boxes. However, on opening Saitek’s offering, you should be pleasantly surprised to see that they have used a highly durable stainless steel shaft with their Pro Flight Yoke.
Included within the stainless steel shaft are a number of bearings, further offering to the overall precision and smoothness one would expect to feel when using elevation and aileron type controls. At your very fingertips you have complete access to the entirety of front-to-back, side-to-side and vertical axes, candidly putting your plane’s navigation in the hands of the pilot.
The Pro Flight Yoke comes with a Throttle Quadrant included so as you have that control over your chosen simulation right from the off. However, if needed or you wish to simply enhance flying experience, additional Throttle Quadrants can be added to your set up. The levers themselves are then entirely programmable and have detachable lever knobs to enable a customisable flight via configuring all manner of throttle, flaps, mixture or propeller pitch.
In order to do this, it is merely a case of removing the knobs, creating the configuration of your choosing, then assigning commands to the levers via your selected simulations settings. Made possible by a system of detents that simplify control of your aeroplanes idle and reverse thrusters.
The Pro Flight Rudder Pedals offer the same sort of control you would expect to find if piloting an actual Aircraft. Plant your feet to control the rudder and toe brakes and enjoy some quality time away from it all, high up in the clouds.
The rudder pedals fluid motion gives you strikingly accurate command over your aircraft, while differential braking provides independent control over the left and right toe brakes.
Whether you prefer the lighter response of a small aircraft or the more robust feel of a heavy jet, a simple twist of the adjustable tension dial will have you flying your way through either scenario.
If you’re serious about flight simulation and really want to know what it is to pilot aeroplanes of all sizes, the self-centering pedals are simply an absolute must-have addition to your Pro Flight System.
Another key addition to your Pro Flight build is the multifunctional switch panel. Attach it to your Yoke, place it where you find most convenient, then start using right away to master total control of the aircraft engine power, lights, landing gear and much, much more, all from one incredible panel. LED indicators illuminate realistic landing gear controls, allowing for the plane’s landing gear to move upward or downward with the click of an actual control lever.
An immensely satisfying feature that further adds to the immersive power of this super array of equipment. The panel’s highly sophisticated five-setting rotary switch individually manages magnetos (an electrical generator that utilises permanent magnets to produce pulses of alternating current) in the plane’s engine system. Which, when compiled with the other available components, shows just how much work has gone into making the Saitek Pro Flight System feel as life-like as possible.
- Experience in-flight simulators, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Prepar3D and X-Plane
- Fly in any weather condition like a pro pilot with the aid of the Instrument Panel, just like a real plane has
- Access critical information (in real-time) on the 3.5″ LCD screen that seamlessly integrates with your chosen simulation
- Toggle between as many as fifteen different types of displays
- Utilise multiple units to create an even larger, more realistic configuration that can simultaneously display multiple panels
- One of Multi Panels coolest features, has to be the full autopilot LED display that works with flight simulator software, effectively removing the need to use onscreen controls
- Autopilot panel gives you complete, fingertip control over a multitude of settings within FSX, X-Plane and Prepar3D software.
- Manipulate your aircraft’s autopilot settings with physical controls, immediately triggering various in-sim actions
- Select your desired altitude swiftly through the settings of an integrated dial
- Additional functions also allow adjustment of your aircraft’s throttle, flaps, and elevator trim
Saitek’s Pro Flight Radio Panel features working radio and navigation functions, piloting as a real pilot would through the realistic navigation of both commercial and private planes.
Remove the need to zoom into your on-screen controls to make different modifications.
See your selection populate instantly on your chosen simulation when you adjust the frequencies on your panel. Upgrade your cockpit to allow for additional radio panels through their easily interchangeable design.
So… What Next?
