PlayStation Plus – Lockdown Entertainment

Hello and welcome ladies & gentlemen,

So, I’m sure by now (if you’re like me) you’re probably sick and tired of hearing about lock-downs and the Coronovirus. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it isn’t a hugely important topic and entirely worrying, of course, it absolutely is, but at the same time, perhaps now more than ever, I think we could all do with a little distraction from the doom and gloom humanity is currently facing around the world. As gaming’s our thing and with God knows how long we all have left cooped up indoors, now might be a good time to take advantage of one of the below PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) memberships to help pass the time and hold onto a little bit of sanity, especially now a few weeks is looking more like a few months, if not more.

Climbing The Walls

This is most likely true for so many people in so many scenarios at the moment. Whether you’re unable to work due to current restrictions, a small business owner that’s had to shut up shop or just an outdoorsy person that’s beside themselves being stuck in-doors, trapped in your home like some sort of criminal on house arrest. Whatever it may be for you, for myself (as much as I love and cherish them with all my heart), I’m afraid it has to be my kids. They’re driving me CRAZY!

I’m climbing the walls listening to their constant bickering, nagging and moaning… “I’m bored!”

“Daddy I’m bored!”

“Mommy I’m bored!”

“But I’m bored!”

“I’m just so bored though!” Sound familiar?

With all the schools being closed, once the homework is done and dusted, finding a way to keep the kids entertained (especially the younger ones) is proving to be somewhat of an uphill battle. That’s why I decided to offer some suggestions for all you Mom’s and Dads stuck at home with them or concerned Grandparents out there that will be missing their little ones and may wish to treat them to something in order to help keep them occupied in these difficult days.

Treating The Grandkids

Firstly, I wanted to quickly recommend something for the Grandparents that may have found their way here. Or perhaps your Grandparents are worried about you? In which case why not share this page with them so they can have a read, who knows, you might just get treated!

If you’re anything like my parents, that absolutely worship the ground their grandkids walk on, then you too may understandably feel a variety of emotions in regard to the given situation. Not being able to see them, as they had been up to now, is really upsetting for them. Yes, we’ve made a number of video calls but let’s be honest… It’s just not the same. Worried that the kids will be fed up, they wanted to know if there is anything they could get them to help keep them occupied whilst confined to the house, which got me thinking and ultimately led to this post.

Here’s what I suggested (all items are download codes that can be given to your loved ones):

PlayStation Network (PSN) Top-Up Cards

There are a number of wallet top-ups available from a variety of sellers. Here I will be focusing on 3 in particular, those being: The PlayStation Store, Amazon UK and CDKeys.

The PlayStation Store probably offers the most convenient way to pay, as the initial set up of any PlayStation Entertainment System (console), requires an account creation unique to its individual owner. In order to purchase from the PlayStation Store, credit/debit card details must be associated with it and then you’re good to go. However, not everyone feels comfortable adding their card information to their child’s console(s).

For many if not most (and my personal favourite), when gifting people with anything nowadays, regardless of the item concerned, people tend to head over to Amazon UK. Here you can find all the below wallet top-ups from your own account or as a guest user, and you don’t have to worry about storing your card information on your child’s/grandchild’s PSN account.

CDKeys is another sight that has some truly fantastic deals when looking to buy anything gaming related. However, in searching CDKeys you may find some negative feedback from people online. For want of total transparency I feel this just must be mentioned. Yet, in more recent years, it would appear CDKeys are doing all they can to regain the trust of their customers and deliver on customer service. Signing up to Trustpilot for honest customer feedback and scoring goes a long way in my book as I’ve always found Trustpilot to be a reliable source of information. Should you wish to take a look at said feedback it can be found here before making any sort of purchase from this site: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.cdkeys.com

PlayStation Plus

Before jumping in and purchasing any PS Plus membership, it’s worth pointing out that at the moment Sony is offering a 14-day free trial!!

Next on the agenda for, let’s call it, ‘Operation Boredom‘ are some of the current PlayStation Plus options available from my 3 chosen sellers. As you will no doubt be aware, PS Plus is needed for the PS gamer to experience online multiplayer features. Critical nowadays for millions of PS users anyway. However, if you have children (particularly teenagers) that are stuck indoors, in order for them to connect with their BFF’s and play hours of their favourite games with one another, without PS Plus, I’m afraid this simply won’t happen. Furthermore, with a PS Plus membership, players can also enjoy free to play games each month as well as a variety of other little perks, such as discounts on additional items within the PS Store itself.

Stay Safe & Stay Sane

I sincerely hope this offers some idea as to what you could potentially do to keep your kids/grandkids entertained throughout the terrible times we’re all faced with. I genuinely wish to express my deepest condolences to anyone that may have lost loved ones to this pandemic. To everyone else, please, please, please treat the situation seriously, stay safe and stay hopeful of better days again.

Warm Regards,
