Welcome folks, to another quick blog on what will no doubt be an absolute… SMASH!!! As one certain member of the team would say. That’s right, I’m sure you’ve probably guessed from that, today I will be writing about the highly anticipated; Marvel’s Avengers: Embrace Your Power.
Due to hit all consoles everywhere this year, 04/09/2020 to be exact. Marvel’s Avengers has been developed by Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal, Crystal Northwest & Nixxes Software and will be published by Square Enix.
As a massive fan of the movies, I have to be honest, the last time I was this excited about playing this sort of game, was when I walked into an arcade and beheld something truly biblical to me at the time, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Arcade Game, towering over me like the Hanging Gardens Of Babylon!
Say what you will, but I KNOW I’m not the only one feeling this way.
The Game Itself
Avengers is a non-stop, action-packed, ass-kicking, adrenaline-junkies-dream. Developed to be played either as a single-player or part of a four-player co-operative online, it will be packed with the usual wit, grit and humor we have all come to know and love from the world’s favorite posse of superheroes in both gameplay and cinematic modes. As you progress through the game with your chosen hero, you will be able to learn new abilities to bring to the battlefield, band together additional, fully customizable characters and once again defend the very existence of life as we know it.
Set some five years into the future, a time wherein superheroes have been utterly outlawed, the young Kamala Khan, a teenager from New Jersey, must get the gang back together if there is to be even the slightest chance of stopping the threat now facing the world… Advanced Idea Mechanics or AIM. Blamed for a catastrophe that follows an Avengers unveiling in the opening scenes, our heroes are disbanded and forbidden from ever putting their lives or powers on the line again. That is until Kamala Khan uncovers the real reason behind the tragic events of that day, an elaborate conspiracy only the might of The Avengers can contain.
Avengers – Embrace Your Power
In single-player mode you must set out to rebuild your Superhero roster and once again don all of their unused powers. Choose to either fight the might of Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM) alone or assemble up to four friends to play online. Dependent on your particular style of play, the flexible scaling combat system included, ensures there are skill sets and ferocious Superhero powers to suit any audience, novice or expert. Another really cool feature the developers have included, is the ability to pick and customise your character costumes from over 80-years-worth of iconic suits and outfits, a feature included for all the die-hard Marvel fans no doubt.
In online mode you launch Warzone Missions all around the world, from a retaken Helicarrier that is used as a base for your Superheros. With up to a four-man-deep option available to you and your friends online, each of you can do your part to ensure the survival of the Earth in true Avengers fashion. With a story taking place over a number of years, each new Hero and region will be made available at wait for it… NO EXTRA COST! That’s right, in true heroic fashion, the additional content will be delivered with want of nothing in return, so long as you have the core game of course.
